Joey Lee started out his musical career hailing from Culpeper, VA. While first learning Saxophone and Piano during his early years, he finally found his calling when he was given a Acoustic Guitar for Christmas. Through endless hours, days, nights, weeks, years of practicing and playing live he honed his style. While emulating his hero’s Allen Collins(Lynyrd S,ynyrd), Duane Allman(Allman Brothers Band), Joe Walsh(Eagles, James Gang), Derek Trucks(Tedeschi-Trucks Band), etc, his style grew and eventually came to what it is today. An Amalgamation of all his influences. After taking over as Lead Vocalist for Strawhouse he leaned on his influences as far as singers go. Chris Stapleton, Sturgill Simpson, Tyler Childers, Etta James, Warren Haynes, Susan Tedeschi, Sierra Ferrell, and Chris Cornell. All of this experience and brought Strawhouse where it is today.
Lynyrd Skynyrd, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Mumford And Sons, The Lumineers, Sturgill Simpson, Tyler Childers, Sierra Ferrell, Molly Tuttle, Marshall Tucker Band, Allman Brothers Band, Etta James, Charley Crockett
